MOBILE APP DEVELOPMENT

Mobile app development.

iOS and Android applications built with React Native. One codebase, both platforms, and a realistic delivery timeline.

WHAT I BUILD

Built for the phone, not squeezed onto it.

Consumer applications

Accounts, content, payments, notifications, and the offline behaviour users expect when a connection drops.

Business & internal apps

Field tools, inventory systems, booking platforms, and operational software companies run on but never advertise.

Marketplace apps

Two-sided products with distinct users, matching logic, messaging, and payment flows.

Companion apps

A mobile front end for a web platform that already exists, sharing its backend and data model.

Existing app work

Feature additions, performance fixes, upgrades, and rescuing a build that stalled partway through.

WHY REACT NATIVE

One codebase. Both platforms.

Building natively for iOS and Android means two codebases, two sets of bugs, and two sets of updates forever. For heavy 3D, deep hardware integration, or real-time video, that cost can be justified. For most apps, it is not.

React Native gives you one place to fix issues and one feature release for both platforms, while still allowing native modules where the app genuinely needs them.

“The app should ship on both platforms, not one now and the other eventually.”

The operating principle

WHAT'S INCLUDED

The full build, not just screens.

01

Scoping and technical planning

Feature breakdown, architecture, and an honest timeline.

02

UI/UX design

Screens and flows designed before build, or your existing designs implemented faithfully.

03

Application development

The complete mobile build, front end and application logic.

04

Backend and API work

Connecting existing systems or building the services the app needs.

05

Third-party integrations

Payments, authentication, maps, analytics, notifications, and messaging.

06

Testing and store submission

Real devices, both platforms, and the App Store and Play Store review process.

PROCESS

How a mobile build runs.

01

Scope

Separate version one from everything that sounds important but is not yet.

02

Design

Approve screens and flows before the expensive part begins.

03

Build

Installable builds in your repo, visible throughout the work.

04

Test

Real devices, both platforms, and multiple OS versions.

05

Ship & hand over

Store submission, code, credentials, documentation, and a walkthrough.

TECHNOLOGIES

The mobile stack.

A narrow, production-tested set of tools for shipping maintainable apps without introducing unnecessary moving parts.

Core

The application foundation used across both platforms.

  • React Native
  • TypeScript
  • Expo
  • React Navigation
  • Native modules

State & data

Predictable client state and resilient data handling.

  • React Query
  • Redux Toolkit
  • AsyncStorage
  • API caching
  • Offline handling

Services

The integrations most app products rely on.

  • Firebase
  • Stripe
  • OAuth
  • Push notifications
  • Maps & geolocation

Delivery

Store operations and releases your team can continue.

  • App Store Connect
  • Google Play Console
  • CI/CD pipelines
  • Device testing
  • Release notes

If native iOS or Android is genuinely the right answer for the app, I will tell you before we scope the wrong build.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Clear before the app starts.

The practical questions are resolved before code begins.

How long does a mobile app take?

A focused first version is typically eight to fourteen weeks. Complex backends, multiple user types, and heavy integrations take longer.

Can you build for just iOS or Android?

Yes, though React Native makes deliberately excluding the second platform rarely worthwhile.

Can you take over an existing app?

Yes. I audit it first and tell you whether continuing is cheaper than rebuilding.

Do you handle App Store submission?

Yes, including the review process and the rejection cycles that often come with first submissions.

Who owns the app and store listings?

You do. Accounts are set up in your name and code plus credentials transfer on completion.

Can you work under an agency brand?

Yes. I work in your repo and under your process; the client does not need to know the arrangement.

Have an app that needs building?

Tell me what it does and who it is for. You will get a fixed price, a realistic timeline, and an honest answer about fit.
